TrustMe Secure Private Networks (SPN) is a consumer focused, next generation, secure email addition. TrustMe SPN is an installable application that compliments your existing method of sending and receiving e-mail by giving the chance to send and receive secure e-mail from without changing your current email client of choice. TrustMe SPN can be used with any email client or web based email without requiring an additional email address, digital ID, or expensive gateway device.
SPN was created for the same reason that very few people would send a postcard with personal information through the mail: The fear that this information would be read as it travels to its destination and compromise its confidentiality. People sending personal or sensitive information via the mail system are afforded increased confidentiality and integrity by encapsulating their letter in an envelope. Current mechanisms for transmitting email are the electronic equivalent to sending a postcard through the mail. Any information transmitted via email can be read as it traverses the internet. SPN works as an envelope with a lock on it.
The TrustMe SPN product allows users a greater level of security, safety and privacy when using email. The reason this can be provided for free is that we place text advertising in the TrustMe Message Announcement HTML and at the bottom of the TrustMe SPN buddy list. Feed a developer, click on the ads from time to time and visit our advertisers so they know that free secure email is important to you.
The Professional Edition of SPN allows you to pay a nominal one time license fee (price to be determined) and the ads will vanish. With any advertising based product or service, we track the ads shown to you and what ads you have enjoyed. The Professional Edition with the absence of ads also stops the usage tracking of the user.
The Professional Edition will not available until the General Release of TrustMe SPN 1.0.
