The Google Sitemap Generator has been a huge success! After distributing just over 800 licenses last month and receiving your great feedback, the product has evolved even better than I ever imagined since the last release. Over the past few weeks, I have received requests for more features. All of these features are now implemented in Version 3.1, plus I added a few more things I thought would be great to have.
I have checked out the competition. My application has more features than any other Sitemap Generator! It is also the fastest! How come it's so fast? Hold on, it gets a little techy here: When I designed the software, I reviewed how others wrote theirs...most use an external database to save all data. I decided to perform all processing in memory which is MUCH faster. Reading and writing to a database tens of thousands of times for an average website would take hours. My application can do the same processing in memory in only minutes! Also, as the application is running, I periodically save the memory to the hard drive in case you want to stop the processing or your computer loses power.
Since my software has been released, I have worked closely with 3 SEO (Search Engine Optimization) experts. Each of them told me my software is the best and the only one they use now. They also tell me that my software can generate sitemaps at least 3-4 times faster than any of my competition. It also is one of the very few that generates Yahoo Sitemaps and HTML sitemaps. Plus nobody else gives your direct links to the Top 10 Search Engines. And this product is very fast and does everything it says (some of the others don't)! I have been asked several times, "Can you software handle huge websites? My site has over 1 million unique URLs.". The answer is Yes! I have personally generated sitemaps for sites with over 1.5 million URLs. I don't know what the exact limit is, but it's not 1.5 million!
