DBUtil is a free java database manager for viewing and manipulating database structure and data.

DBUtil provides both GUI and command line interfaces. It works with any JDBC compliant database and was tested with DB2, Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL and SQLite in Windows, Linux and Solaris.

All basic database operations such as creating, deleting, dropping tables, inserting, updating and selecting values and transactions can be accomplished by simple DBUtil GUI operations or by SQL command executions.

When the DBUtil GUI operations are carried out, the corresponding SQL statements are recorded in an interactive console. This is very useful for database learners to get familar with the SQL language.

DBUtil is also useful to application developers because the resulting SQL statements can work as a template for their application SQL statements. The command line SQL statement execution provides a easy way for SQL statement testing for developers.

When a SQL statement fails in their application program, they can copy the SQL statement to the DBUtil interactive console to be tested/modified until the statement is correct.

DBUtil features
