PenReader is a useful and reliable on-line handwriting recognition system for desktop PC's. The PenReader adds handwriting input support to an operating system, making your work with a PC more comfortable and quicker. The PenReader doesn't require training or adjustment for a particular handwriting - it's ready to work right after installation.
You can use PenReader with digitizers, pen tablets and even with standard mouse.
Let's imagine following situation. You are typing some text on the desktop PC in MS Word. For example, it may be some advertising leaflet. You need to insert in text information about 50% discount. How could you calculate 50% from 29,95 very quickly? Usualliy you should bring up Calculator application, then make the calculations, then close the program and then type the result in the document, using keyboard. But the PenReader allows you to do it much more quickly. You should write one macro stroke to switch in Calculator context and write the calculations on the screen using digitizer, pen tablet or standard mouse. You'll see in the text only the result. It's very quickly and very simple!
Current PenReader edition supports 28 languages:
Albanian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Welsh.
The system recognizes all national alphabets that are based on standard Latin ABC. The PenReader "understands" all kinds of national modifiers for Latin ABC: strokes, ticks and so on. In addition to this PenReader core has two additional recognition engines that are adjusted for Cyrillic (Russian, Bulgarian) and for Greek alphabets.
PenReader is the only handwriting recognition system on the market that supports more than one language. Using two language context of the program, you can write text simultaneously in any two languages from the above stated list. You can switch between language by simple click on the program's icon in the task bar or using special macro.
