Mamba is a free multi-track MIDI generator.

To use Mamba, you have to enter the chords you want to be played and select the pattern to be applied, either to the whole track or to individual chords. You can choose instruments or effect levels for each track, press play and listen to the result.

Mamba comes with libraries of chords and playing patterns, but lets you add your own patterns or libraries.

If you're making your own patterns or adapting the existing patterns, you have accurate control over the speed, volume, timing and direction of individual strums, which strings are played, and whether the notes ring out or become muted. And you can even shift the individual notes up and down.

Each track can be sent to any instrument you want, and there are special features for drum tracks. Y can use Mamba as an entire backing band.

Mamba MIDI generator features
  • Chord sequences are entered as chord names separated by bar lines - e.g. C | F | G.
  • There is a shorthand for specifying repeating sections (with variations if required).
  • Playing (strumming) Patterns are applied via a simple Drag-and-Drop facility.
  • Pattern editor for defining patterns
  • 'Windows Explorer' style tree views to manage Patterns.
  • One click make-and-play to generate Midi output then fire up your chosen midi player - defaults to be Windows Media Player, but can be any other program (e.g. a sequencer).
  • Multiple tracks (32 in the full version).
  • You can select Midi patches, instrument bank, effects (Reverb/Chorus/Modulation), volume, pan, transpose and timing offsets for each track.
  • Randomisation feature to avoid 'inhuman' perfection.
  • Hundreds of chords and chord 'voicings' - many predefined, but you can add your own.
  • Programmable Drum Patterns
  • Dozens of pre-defined playing patterns - but you can define, store and organize your own.
