LAN Messenger is the only used chatting program in the WAGNERA.NET Local Area Network since October 2002.

Most of the functions of LAN Messenger are common and known from the other network-chatting programs, but there are some new options, that cannot be found in other chatting programs.

Here are some key features of "LAN Messenger":

  • Chatting on the main window, and the private windows (privs)
  • 'Away' mode, with the capability of setting your own comment
  • Automatic away mode (AutoAway)
  • Capability of choosing your own font colour, type and size.
  • Emoticons (graphic replacements of symbols like ":-)" etc. )
  • Topic (displayed as the caption of the program)
  • New message notification (tray icon, baloon hints, sound)
  • File sending
  • Message logs - writes all messages to file (*.txt or *.rtf)
  • Console
  • Most used options are doubled (menu, tray menu, console)
  • Skin change and sound features
  • LM is multilingual
