Soft193 Shredder willdelete files securely by erasing their contents completely - so that even if the file is recovered, its contents will be meaningless.
Extra security measures can be implemented, including renaming of files/folders, setting their date to a random date prior to deleting, increasing the number of times the contents are erased, and by using a more secure overwriting method.
You can shred files and folders a number of ways, either by using the menu/toolbar commands or by dragging and dropping files/folders from other applications to Soft193 Shredder.
You can drop files/folders to the main window of Soft193 Shredder, to the special drop target panel.
Alternatively, you can drop them on the floating window drop target - a little window which can be moved to anywhere on your desktop.
You can also shred files/folders which have been copied to the Windows clipboard by another application (such as Windows Explorer). Do this by selecting "Shred clipboard" from the main menu or by clicking the "Clipboard" button on the toolbar.
By enabling the option "Confirm shredding of files/folders" you will be presented with a list of the items about to be shredded. You can check/uncheck items in the list, and then confirm whether you want them deleting.
Shredding can be stopped any time by clicking on the "Stop" button on the toolbar, or by clicking on "Stop" in the system tray pop-up menu.
