The Data Transport Agent offers a common mechanism for synchronizing and transporting a variety of data between a variety of systems. The software sits in your system tray, periodically checking for modified information and then copying or moving it to another location, based on criteria of your choice.

The Data Transport Agent has been developed primarily to provide other developers with a robust, managed interface and synchronization architecture from which they can create their own synchronization modules (using the Microsoft .Net Framework) based on the synchronization requirements of their own company.
