If you are online and your IP address happens to be included in the block the message will suddenly appear on your screen if the Windows messaging service is active on your computer.

This new kind of spam, known as "IP spam" or "net spam", is generated through the internal Windows messaging service, which is actually a tool provided to enable network administrators to send messages to multiple users via the network.

The service is activated by default on Windows 2 and Windows XP. This little tool enables you to just switch off the messaging service, getting rid of these annoying advertising messages forever!
