SCREWBALL is a font that was designed after the hand-lettered titles of the movie What's Up, Doc? I watched it again after Madeline Kahn died; it was her first film and she's just terrific in it.

Anyway, What's Up, Doc was produced and directed by Peter Bogdanovich, and stars Barbra Streisand, Ryan O'Neal, Kenneth Mars, Austin Pendleton, and "introducing Madeline Kahn." It's a timeless screwball comedy culminating in a wonderful chase through San Francisco.

The opening and closing titles (by The Golds West, Inc.) feature whimsical handlettering, which I've adapted into this font. I've worked to make the letters link and collide as much as possible, often
