When ACT!2005 was released it represented a new way for handling pictures that previous versions of ACT were not capable of doing. Unfortunately the controls available for the picture fields in ACT! are very rudimentary. But with "PicturePlus for ACT!" this all changes. And along with "Presentation for ACT!" ACT! is virtually brought to life.

With modern digital cameras and what seems to be their ever increasing megapixels, photos are usually large in size. When loading pictures into ACT picture fields you will quickly find that your database speed drops dramatically particularly with these large file sized pictures. Furthermore when trying to back up your data be prepared for a long coffee break as you wait. This where PicturePlus changes the way ACT behaves.

PicturePlus for ACT! easily links photos to the photofields. You still use the same fields, you still setup the picture fields as you normally would within ACT but instead of keeping the picture in the database you only keep the link to the picture. Your pictures reside off the database.

All the report functions still work the same - it's as though ACT doesn't notice the difference. But you do in the time you save backing up, and in the convenience of having access to the pictures for other purposes. If your picture fields are small and you want to see the picture full size then with PicturePlus one click is all you need and your picture is in full size mode on the screen.

PicturePlus tidies up how pictures are deleted by prompting for confirmation on deletion of pictures from the fields.

PicturePlus also allows you to add pictures directly into the field if you so desire as originally designed in ACT. With PicturePlus for ACT! you get the best of both worlds. If you are using pictures or photos in ACT then PicturePlus is a must. It turns what is a fairly rudimentary function of ACT into something far more powerful.
