It works with Exchange Server 2000, Exchange Server 2003 and the standard SMTP server, supplied with all Windows Server operating systems from Windows 2000 Server onwards.
MailFender intercepts messages as they are being received by Exchange Server and, depending upon the defined policy, can perform actions based on the message content such as deleting or quarantining the message or modifying it in a defined way prior to subsequent delivery to Exchange Server.
MailFender can detect and quarantine virus infected messages, keeping your organization free from email bourne viruses. It can do this by leveraging your existing antivirus auto-protect functionality or you can purchase the Antivirus option, which is powered by Sophos antivirus to provide seamless antivirus protection for your email.
MailFender can detect and quarantine spam messages, saving your organization the expense of its staff dealing with spam messages. Spam detection is based on the SpamCleanser engine, which can distinguish up to 95% of spam mail from ordinary mail. The Spam option is an optional component for MailFender.
