M8 Estimate is a generic costing and estimating system suitable for any trade or profession.
It is based on these simple principles: You create a price list. You create simple estimations by choosing items from your price list and inserting the quantity.
Once estimates have been saved, they in turn can be chosen as items in later estimates. When prices change, you just update your price list and your estimates are recosted with the latest prices next time you load them.
Estimate's ability to include estimates within estimates means that it can be used for anything from costing the largest of business projects to pricing small jobs for tradesmen.
The Estimate program is based on these simple principles:
1. You create price lists. (Item name and price)
2. You create simple costings. (Quantities of Items)
3. You optionally create compound estimates. (Quantities of costings)
4. When prices change, you update your price lists.
5. Whenever you reload an estimate, it is recosted using the latest prices.
Estimate offers two sets of data, the users private data and the Administrators common data. Each Windows user has his own private data which no other user can access. The common data can be accessed by all users with administrator accounts. It is not available to limited user accounts under Windows XP.
