Zetafax is a powerful software package which runs on a PC network (LAN). It allows users on the network to receive faxes on screen and send faxes straight from their PCs. It can merge a document onto a letterhead and generate a coversheet automatically if required before sending.

One PC on the network is set up to be the fax server. Connected to this PC are one or more fax modems or fax cards. In most cases the fax server does not need to be a dedicated PC. The Email Gateway will allow you to send and receive email and faxes from a single interface.

Documents for sending can be created using most word processors, spreadsheets, etc. Faxes can also include graphics images such as signatures.

The Workstation software uses Microsoft Windows 9X/NT/2000/XP. There are two versions of the fax server programs, a 32-bit fax server which will run on a Windows 9X/NT/2000/XP Server or Workstation.

However, whatever combination of programs you use, the functions provided are the same - you need only learn how to use the programs once.

Sending a fax using Zetafax is much quicker than sending using a conventional fax machine. Once a document has been typed into your word processor, a few keystrokes or mouse clicks are all that is required to send it to one or more recipients. The alternative is to print it onto headed paper, write out a cover sheet, then take it to the fax machine, dialing and sending, and waiting to make sure that it actually went. With Zetafax, you can do it all from the comfort of your desk.

The quality of fax received by the recipient is also improved. Since the fax is computer generated, it does not include the specks, fuzzy edges and other scanning errors which you get when scanning manually. The end result has a high quality feel to it, looking more like laser printer output than a fax.

A full featured address book makes sending the same document to a group of people extremely easy. Zetafax even allows each document to be personalized just like mail merge on a word processor.

Finally, a number of permissioning and logging options allow the network supervisor to manage usage of Zetafax.
