bitRipper is FREE DVD to AVI software that allows you to back-up your DVD's as AVI files on the hard drive.
It can be used for one-click ripping just as well as for advanced one. You are free to choose whether to use default configuration values or to set them manually.

bitRipper does not require gigabytes of space to copy all DVD content to the hard drive before converting to AVI. It converts video on-the-fly, copying data and writing it to AVI file at the same time.

    Limitations
  • Trial (unregistered) version of bitRipper is fully functional, none of it's controls are hidden and none of it's functions are disabled. The only limitation is that unregistered bitRipper will only copy first 30% of the selected DVD track. We suppose this should be quite enough to evaluate bitRipper's abilties and decide whether it is worth purchasing the full version.
