ActiveFiler is an office tool which will help you save Microsoft Word files (and others). Instead of having to navigate to the right folder and name the document when you try to save it, ActiveFiler makes this process automatic, based on rules you set up. In other words, ActiveFiler generates a location and name for a document at the point of saving including creating all necessary folders. The benefit of this is quicker, easier and more accurate saving.
However your company likes to organise it's documents, ActiveFiler can work with your system, automating the process of saving to preventing errors and save time.
Typically ActiveFiler will be configured by the IT staff within an organisation and all the other staff will experience is very simple saving. However it can just as easily be used standalone on a single computer.
ActiveFiler can create quite complex filing systems, using a number of data sources, processing and formatting steps. It is very configurable and easily integrated with other systems. It can actually file documents from other programs, not just Word, but must be configured for this.
