Cirrus & Tapeworm - visualizations for Winamp are similar to each other, implemented as an APE (Advanced Plug-in Effect).

  • the picture is clearly dependent on the sound, which is not true in many popular plug-ins.
  • gives most interesting effects for single sounds, but on typical music everything mixes into an expressionless scrawl.

    Note: Unpack the ZIP archive to subdir Plugins\avs in the directory, where Winamp is installed, e.g. C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\avs. The fourier.dll library should be copied to the Winamp dir itself (e.g. C:\Program Files\Winamp).

    Close Winamp (if it was running) and open it again. In the Preferences, under Plug−ins/Visualization, select Advanced Visualization Studio (perhaps it's already selected). After enabling visualization (Ctrl+Shift+K), there should appear new themes to choose: Cirrus, Tapeworm, Simple Tapeworm.
